Question about birth control and sex – what are my chances of getting pregnant?

Posted on April 4th, 2010 by admin

I’m in my first and last LTR we are having sex allot. My boyfriend wants to keep finishing in me. I have been on the shot for 2 months. I want to let him finish in me but I DO NOT want to get preg or have kids EVER!

So my question is HOW DO I DO THIS????? And what are my chances of getting pregnant????? We like the natural way allot better because its waay more intimate and I can feel the pulsing…. we both love it and the sex and relationship just went up a notch and it hotter than ever! So I WANT to make this our normal sex but I DO NOT want to get pregnant ! !! !

They say BC is 99% effective but they dont say anything about the number of times the guys can come inside the gurls. IS there any diff between 5 times per month vs 50 times? IT sounds stoopid question but they DO NOT SAY they just say the TIME PERIOD is 99% effective FOR 3 MONTHS.

A 1% risk over 3 months is not much. But still – it is a risk and I want to be 100% sure my sweetie can finish inside me without me getting pregannt. I DO NOT wants kids until we are married like 30.

Does anyone know abotu the # of times or know how to make the risk go down even more? Thanks.

.The shot is 99% effective. That means if you have sex 100 times, there is a 1 in 100 chance of getting pregnant. For 1000 times, it’s 10 in 1000…etc (you can do the math). I took the shot for over a decade, had plenty of sex, and did not get pregnant.

There is ZERO, NONE, NADA, NOTHING, ZIP, ZILCH type of birth control that will give you no chance of getting pregnant at all. It just doesn’t exist. If you want that, get a hysterectomy. You cannot get pregnant if you don’t have the "equipment" for it. Otherwise, stop being paranoid and accept that there will always be a risk…always.

You can have him use a condom in addition to the shot (or whatever other b/c you may use down the road) and that will lessen the chances even more to be miniscule…but they will never, ever go away completely unless one or both of you is infertile.

Your doctor could have explained this to you…that’s who you need to be speaking to about your paranoia. You know, abortion is legal in the US, should your chosen b/c method fail.

Having trouble with getting pregnant?

Posted on April 2nd, 2010 by admin

I am 18 and have been on the Nuva Ring for two years. I took it out on March 7th and had my period on March 9th til March 13th. I recently took it out March 18th because I want another child. Then on March 21st til the 24th I had a very heavy period. When am I supposed to ovulate? What was the heavy bleeding for? Do i base it off of my period from being on the Nuva Ring or just wait for another period? Will an ovulation calculator help now? And how do I use one? Thanks!

I was on Nuvaring for years. I stopped in January and a similar thing happened to me. Consider March 21 your first day of the cycle (CD1). You didn’t mention how many days your cycle is so it’s difficult to determine when your next ovulation day is going to be. Plus, it may take up to 6 months for your cycles to regulate after you go off the Nuvaring. The best thing to do is start tracking as of March 21st. You can go on fertilityfriend.com and track your cycles for the next few months to pick up on a possible pattern. Best of luck! xoxo

What are the odds of getting pregnant if you miss two birth control pills in a row ?

Posted on March 17th, 2010 by admin

You hear that 5% of women get pregnant on the pill. What are the odds of getting pregnant if you miss two pills in a row and have unprotected sex? Are they the same of not beening on any birth control ,or is it less?

It’ll be less than not having any protection, because the medication will be in your system, but don’t depend on it. Use protection, like the directions with your pills say.

why arent i getting pregnant? can i get pregnant? is this because of my d&c! please help!?

if you have time to help somebody really in need of help! please read this.

i know iim young and im not here for lecture id just like to include my age in case it has anything to do with anything. im 17(already graduated high school), my fiance is 20(he graduated 2 and a half years ago( were getting married this october, 2010. weve been together 3 years. and weve lived together 2 years. in our own home for 1 year. we are financially stable have been saving money for a baby for a year and a half. we both have jobs that pay pretty well. we live in a 3 bedroom home. my sister in law is here as well she rents a room. well. heres the story.

i got pregnant from 1 night of 1 mistake, i got pregnant very easily. we just made 1 mistake 1 night!!!
well. sadly that ended in a missed miscarriage. it was a year and a half ago. i didnt naturally miscarry so i had to have a d&c. well i bleed like a waterfall for over 2 weeks, with huge clots!!!!! the doc didnt care, i called. i had tons of milk coming out of both breast. he said it was normal. also after the heavy bleeding stopped i would spot mostly brown with some blood every other few days for a few months? probably about 3 so all together including the heavy bleeding about 4 months. then finally i went to the docs. because wen id call they say i was fine. i jsut went in. they put me up on a table and opened me up with some metal props? and pulled out some almost plum sized object? said it was probably an old clot. this was from a whole new insurance i switched from medical to kaiser. well. then after he pulled that out immediately the spotting stopped! then i started getting my absolute normal periods. every 26th or 27th of the month for 7 days. so i have about a 20 day cycle? i dont know what he did if he left scaring? my tubes are blocked? maybe my progesterone is high or low, or i have boy hormones still, i dont know! but weve been trying to get pregnant again for going on 8 months? i know i ovulate i test every month. and i have sex usually the day before the positive the day of and 2 days following,!!! what can it be? if the doc was too rough and left scaring or i got an infection from the d&c and i have scaring is it fixable is blocked tubes fixable i dont think its ashers sydrome i dont have a light period!!! what can it be is all of it fixable? im not 18 quite yet. so will a doctor see me if i go with my mother? its been a year and a half and my right breast still lets some milk out if i squueeze? whats wrong with me!!!! please help!!!! im very mature for my age, the oldest out of 7 children. ive cared for them from newborn till a year ago!!!! ive helped my mother alot. everyone tells me what a great mother i will make! please help me!
i meant to say i have about a 30 day cycle not 20, sorry im typing on a cell phone its hard.
i have a new doc now in kaiser, but will the see me since im underage? my mother will come if necessary?

It doesn’t sound like anything is wrong with you, not really. I spotted after my medical abortion until a hunk of tissue finally came out of me weeks after. If you have insurance then you just need to see a fertility specialist so they can check you out and make sure you do not have scar tissue or blockages. I think you are fine though, if after a whole year of trying then you and he need to be checked out.

You may want to try this to regulate your cycles. I use this every time I get off birth control, after my miscarriages, my abortion and after the birth of my daughter; it helps me transition without going crazy.

Chaste Tree Berry (Vitex)
Chasteberry has the effect of stimulating and normalizing pituitary gland functions, especially its progesterone function. The greatest use of Vitex Agnus Castus – or Chasteberry – lies in normalizing the activity of female sex hormones and it is thus indicated for dysmenorrhoea, premenstrual stress and other disorders related to hormone function. It is especially beneficial during menopausal changes. In a similar way it may be used to aid the body to regain a natural balance after the use of the birth control pill. Because it can increase progesterone and extend the luteal phase, some women begin taking it when they ovulate, though regular daily use is indicated in the promotion of fertility.
As vitex is safe, it may be used by women seeking to become pregnant to increase chances of conception. More specifically, it can be used by women with irregular ovulatory function and by women with shorter luteal phases. Vitex may also be used after discontinuing use of birth control pills to restore normal ovulation.

This is what I buy, I would recommend taking it everyday for at least 3 cycles and seeing how it works for you.

Women who have breastfed can ‘leak’ milk for years after they stopped nursing, that’s normal. Also you shoudl up your intake of folic acid, iron and take a multi-vitamin everyday.

If you have any more questions or want/need to talk about it drop me an email.

Ps – For afterwards . . . . .
The best suggestion I can make is get a Paragard – these reasons I got mine; no hormones (can’t do regular birth control due to the synthetic hormones), is idiot proof (no pills, patches or rings to remember or forget) and it’s good for up to 12 yrs. Also it’s compatible with breastfeeding.

Can I get pregnant the day of my period?

Posted on March 13th, 2010 by admin

I have been on and off birth control for 2 years (terrible habit, but I couldnt afford it some months) and my period always comes on the Wednesday. Wednesday my fiance and I had sex without a condom, but I’ve been taking my bc for at least 3 straight months. That same day I got my period, as expected.
Would the sperm linger until ovulation? Is it possible that I may get pregnant even though im on my period?
Thank you! =)

There is always a possibility that you can get pregnant, even on your period, however it is very unlikely at that time. Usually you ovulate(when your body sends out another egg to be fertilized) two weeks after your period and sperm only live for 5days(MAX!) so you’re most likely in the clear.
don’t stress about it or you’re likely to make yourself see signs of a nonexistent pregnancy.
good luck!

What would you do if you got pregnant on a rape?

Posted on March 11th, 2010 by admin

I would fuckin abort that bastard!!!!! How bout you?

how could someone get a baby and put it out for adoption think if you were a kid who was born by rape don’t know whom your real parents and living with fake parents i would simply abortion it if i were a girl i think it doesn’t makes you sick at one time but only when you do it thrice or more than that!
Nice question actually!

8 weeks pregnant and have endometriosis, have a couple of questions?

Posted on March 9th, 2010 by admin

i am 8 weeks pregnant and i have been getting cramps and i have a brownish light discharge the last day or two, i was wondering if this is normal or if it is to do with the endometriosis. i didnt think i could get pregnant because just last year i had my second laparoscopy and was put on the injections to put me through the menopause. now that i am pregnant i am really scared of losing the baby and i mightbe a bit paranoid but any help would be appreciated thanks.

I have endometriosis. And I didn’t have the symptoms that you are describing during either of my pregnancies. I was told by my reproductive specialist that endometriosis goes into dormancy during your pregnancy. So I don’t think those symptoms are due to your condition. You should call your doctor and describe what you are going through. The discharge is probably normal but I’m not so sure about the cramping. Good Luck!
